"update available" when current

~ April 29, 2006 at 13:49 by tscalzott (Views: 98)

On every start of strands it tells me that a more recent version is available. Even if I re-install. Help-->about shows the latest version.

FYI, this occurs if you start MusicStrands first, letting it fire up WMP.

Once I started WMP and let the MusicStrands plugin start MusicStrands, it started without incident nor version complaint

Note that this "fixed" another problem as well. I'll comment there.

hi,

We're still looking into this--the developers suggest that you check help/about and make sure that the version number shown there is (b0.7.6.000). If it is, please let us know so we can continue researching this problem. If not, you can download version 0.7.6 from the site.

Thanks again,

It is indeed b0.7.6.000. Downloading and installing again does not fix. Only starting WMP first fixes. If MusicStrands is started from Start-->Programs it exhibits this behavior.

WMP is 10.00.00.4019 and my O/S is Windows XP Professional with SP2.

hi,

We've released a new version of MyStrands for Windows that should fix this problem. You can download this new version from the mystrands download page.

Thanks for your feedback.

I am sorry, but no. Such is not the case. I still have the same problem with version b0.7.7.000.

If I start MyStrands by itself, I am told of a new version available. If I launch WM 10, which launces MyStrands, this does not occur.

When it does tell me about an update via the popup window it also indicates "Update Available" in the main MyStrands window.

Hi again, and sorry the patch didn't fix your problem.

You've got the team very curious now--it might help if you sent a copy of your preferences file to us at feedback@musicstrands.com. The preferences file is available in:
C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR USER NAME\Local Settings\Application Data\MyStrands\MyStrands.config

Thanks--we'll keep looking into this.

Hi,

We received your preferences file, and it's helped. Our next release, later this June, will address this and a few other bugs, along with providing some new functionality. We'll let you know as soon as it's out.

Thanks for your patience,

- The MusicStrands Team
