Getting "MyStrands failed to contact the server."

~ October 10, 2006 at 8:23 by joe99chi (Views: 394)

I see that in the MyStrands.log file, it keeps reporting this error for certain songs.

10/9/2006 11:12:27 PM - WARN: -----Start Response-----
10/9/2006 11:12:27 PM - WARN: Response from: https://www.openstrands.com/user/multi/recommend/tracks
10/9/2006 11:12:27 PM - WARN: Response status: ProtocolError
10/9/2006 11:12:27 PM - WARN: -----End Response-----

I'm running on Windows XP with Windows Media Player.

Is there any way to resolve this problem?

Here is an example song that I'm running into this problem. I have another song by the same artist and same album and it does not show the problem.

Artist: The Eagles
Album: The Very Best of the Eagles [2003]
Song: Take It Easy

Hi,

Thanks, for your comment. We're looking into this and will respond soon.

One quick question: Does this happen every time you attempt to play this song?

We'll get back to you soon,

Yes this was happening everytime yesterday when I posted it. It doesn't happen right now.
I'm seeing this problem in the log file.

10/10/2006 10:07:07 PM - ERROR: Unhandled exception in client of an Invoke
10/10/2006 10:07:07 PM - Exception recieved:
10/10/2006 10:07:07 PM - Message: [Object reference not set to an instance of an object.]
10/10/2006 10:07:07 PM - at System.Windows.Forms.Control.MarshaledInvoke(Control caller, Delegate method, Object[] args, Boolean synchronous)
at System.Windows.Forms.Control.Invoke(Delegate method, Object[] args)
at MyStrands.EventsHelper.Invoke(Control control, Delegate d, Object[] args)

The difference between yesterday and today is that I installed Microsoft latest patch.
